A Family-Owned Legacy Rooted in Agriculture
Founded in 2024, Herbers Ag, LLC is a proud continuation of the family legacy that began with Herbers Seed in 1998. Built on decades of experience and deep ties to the local farming community, Herbers Ag was created to better serve the evolving needs of today's producers.
Our story begins with Lou Herbers, a native of Halbur, Iowa, who grew up on his family’s farm in Carroll County. After graduating from Kuemper High School, Lou served in the U.S. military, where he was stationed in Germany. It was there he met his future wife, Kris.
Following their return to Iowa, Lou pursued a degree in agronomy from Iowa State University. After graduating, he began his agricultural career working with a cooperative in Audubon, Iowa. There, Lou and Kris settled down and raised their three sons—each of whom has played a role in the family’s farming and business journey.
Today, Herbers Ag remains committed to providing quality agricultural products and personalized service—carrying forward a tradition of hard work, integrity, and dedication to the land.
